1963 11 window walk-through bus imported from Arizona in 2004.
Small rear window, jailbars, 6 x pop outs, church key lids, motolita wood rim steering wheel and so on….
We have owned this bus since 2005 and during our ownership we’ve spent bundles on it. When imported from Arizona it was running a 1776 twin kadron motor through a freeway flyer gearbox into reduction hubs. Hills were never a problem and with the freeway flyer box keeping up with motorway traffic wasn’t an issue.
However, I decided that I wanted to replace the motor and after a great deal of research I contacted the renowned engine builder Laurie Pettit. After discussing what the set up was and what I wanted the motor to do, he suggested that I go for a 1955cc engine. So, after buying all new parts I had Laurie build a new engine for us. This engine has probably only done 2000 miles, if that? I have tried to list the parts that went into the build but there is probably loads of bits that I have missed out. Don’t forget, these are all new quality parts that went into this build.
The pictures will give an idea what this bus is all about, and it certainly doesn’t look like it’s 60 years old? There are a couple of issues that were present when we got the bus but have not deteriorated whilst in dry storage. The paint is cracked on one of the cargo doors and the nose has a small dent at the bottom. Some of the seams have small bubbles but as I said, these have been this way since it came over from Arizona back in 2004.
It was magazine featured and won best interior at Whitenoise. The sound system is serious quality set up comprising of a Pioneer head unit through Audison amps and focal speakers with a bazzoker bass tube. We transplanted it from a previous 67 split that we bought off a recording studio sound engineer, so a proper set up.
The reason we’re selling it is basically because we don’t use it and it’s been stored in the garage for the last few years so it’s time to let it go. This is a serious sale and I would prefer not to be entertaining tyre kickers and dreamers.
I’ve got a file full of receipts and loads of photo’s so if more info or photo’s are needed drop me your email or message. Some of the parts fitted are:
Creative engineering weedeater front beam.
T2D dropped spindles, track rods, link pins, arm cores & shocks.
Stainless steering box guard.
Turbo Thomas SS muffler, header & J tubes.
Rear air shocks.
The engine build was made up from the following parts although as I’ve said, there are probably loads of stuff I’ve forgotten:

Twin 40 idf weber carbs, manifolds, linkage & filters
Edelbrock electric fuel pump.
