Lhd Volkswagen microbus German built 1966 11 window . US spec californian bus.

Engine    Subaru 2000cc 140hp ,polished inlet manifold and alternator, detailed engine ,with silicone hoses and stainless water pipes. Under body aluminium radiator and cooling fans. Stainless exhaust Freshly rebuilt and fitted by Fellows speed shop ,Birmingham in 2020 , covering less than 2000 miles since.

Gearbox new heavy duty freeway flyer with long 4th gear for excellent cruising and mpg .

Suspension     Adjustable front and rear ,Type 2 detectives flipped front hubs .

Rear new IRS suspension, driveshafts ,bushes etc 

Brakes   Fellows front disc conversion with Wilwood 4 pot calipers ,aluminium billet hubs which take 205 pcd or 130 pcd wheels. Rear brakes new inc drums ,shoes ,cables etc ,all new brake lines .

Vw Jim servo with dual circuit master cylinder for safety .

Steering   Fellows steering rack conversion which allows one handed driving ! 

Top speed  100mph + if your brave enough !! 0 to 60 yes it does that too 

Interior 

Van wurks 3/4 Rock and roll bed ,bulkhead storage, buddy seat with toilet .

Dometic low noise low consumption fridge with leisure battery ,fridge runs off 240v or van or leisure battery.

Interior professionally fitted by Jnc camper conversions ,very neatly installed .

Comes with sink and running water ,2 hob gas burner ,gas bottle storage with 3 x gas taps for ,hob ,bbq point and spare if gas heater was wanted.

Numerous cupboards with overhead table storage .

Power management system ,CO detector ,4 x usb ,reading light.

Discreet rear view camera and switch above sunvisor .

240 v sockets x 2 ,vanity mirror ,temp gauge ,hazards,2 speed wipers new steering wheel and horn push ,new ashtray and grab handle. 

4 x Aliminium pop out windows most  rubbers replaced bar 3 .

Plywood headliner ,grey wood floor with ally finishing door trim . Table mount in floor.

US spec bumpers  , reverse camera discreetly in rear number plate , US spec rear red lights ( indicator show orange)

BRM 205 pcd alloy wheels, personally I would fit new wheels and tyres as they are tired.

Stainless VW nose badge , Porsche 356 style headlamp grills  front mount aerial.

So a quick story of Crusty ,it’s like a member of our family and I have a genuine reason for a very sad sale.

When I imported it in 2006 it needed minimal repairs ,it had inner and outer sills ,and 6 inch floor replacement on right side , 2 x cargo door lower half repairs . 

We have travelled through France and the UK with our 3 girls ,bikes ,surfboards and more ,these vans are like a tardis ! 

In 2010 I changed the original sea blue colour to fiat 500 baby blue its still wearing 90% of that paintwork now so expect some wear and tear etc, it’s not an arrow straight show van as it was built to be used and enjoyed without worrying what the kids were doing .

That said the kids no longer camp with us so as our holiday was cancelled in covid we treated crusty to a full new interior, front panel refresh and new front arches .

I can hand on heart honestly say in 20k + and 18 years it’s not broken down once !

When I collected it from Fellows on the first day of lockdown occasionally it would jump out of 4th ,this has got worse and I end up holding it in just incase ,Fellows seem to think it’s a linkage adjustment as sometimes it does it in reverse too ,I have taken this into account in the price as I was going to advertise it at 35k ,so I’ve reduced it by 3k for any works you may feel necessary. 

This van could now not be bought and built for the asking price in my opinion.

It’s currently on crazy charly YouTube and Facebook for full video walk around Inc underneath although the commentary is in French.
