Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 10th Anniversary 1979

Pontiac Trans Am 10th Anniversary in stunning original survivor condition.

Only 5683 of these Limited Edition Trans Am’s fitted with the 6.6 Litre engine and automatic gearbox were ever produced and several went straight into Car collections because these would be one of the last of the big cubic inch engine combinations to be offered back in the day.

These Cars came fully loaded and included Power Tinted Windows, Central Locking, Tinted T Tops, Air Con, Full Leather Interior, Turbine Alloy Wheels, Cruise Control, 8 Track Player, 4 Wheel Disc Brakes etc.etc. Basically all options were built into these cars straight from the factory.

The mileage on this Car is very low at a believable 39,500 miles and has spent it’s life garaged and used sparingly from new. 

I personally imported the Car back in 2019 and it is now time to let someone else enjoy this Vehicle.

The Car has the original numbers matching engine & auto gearbox.

The silver leather interior and the deep pile carpets and original overmats are in excellent condition and the original T Top bags are still in the trunk along with the original spare wheel and gas inflation canister!

The original radio is still working great and the electric aerial raises and lowers as it should.

All gauges illuminate red when lit and all work including the time clock.

The mirrored T Tops are water tight and are a breeze to remove and re-fit for those sunny days.

All body panels are super straight and solid but there is some fade and surface cracking on certain areas on the plastic extensions which I have shown in the pictures.

Underneath is absolutely rock solid and just take a look at the pictures of the pristine trunk area where they are prone to rust out.

It was ‘Quaker Coated’ when leaving the original sales dealership so this as also helped to keep this car so remarkably rust free.

When it was imported I went through the Car with a thorough service and changed the rubber flexible brake hoses, wiper motor and blades, power steering hoses, front & rear shocks etc and have just replaced the tyres so no worries there.

I have the specific original book pack that went with the 10th Anniversary model only and have the bill of sale from new and various other pieces of documentation adding to the provenance of the Car, also the original dealership sticker is affixed to the rear bumper. 

The car does have some very minor marks and small pieces of paint damage but please view all pictures as they are part of the advert description.

There are very small areas of interior trim that have marks but nothing significant and I am just being honest.

The Air Con system is all there but will need at least a re-gas to get functioning but has never bothered me.

The value of the 10th Anniversary’s will only keep appreciating with the current average sales price in the USA at around $53,000 (Approx. £42,000)  so it time to grab a piece of automotive history, use and enjoy it and with it being Road Tax & MOT Exempt and low Insurance cost it is better than money in the bank.

The video was taken on a damp morning so it is only condensation coming out from the exhaust.
