Porsche 911 (964) SPEEDSTER
|Engine Size||3,600 ccm|
Hexagon Classics are very pleased to offer this ultra-low mileage Porsche 964 Speedster. The speedster showed off its retro styling that captured the spirit of the 1950’s speedster, with its shortened windscreen, lighter roof and rear speedster humps.
The 911 Speedster was a rare classic that combined timeless design with state-of-art technology. A distinctive, 2-seater open top sports car that featured a re-designed front windscreen and lightweight sports interior, the 911 Speedster guaranteed the ultimate open top driving experience. The 964 Speedster also had its windscreen firmly mounted to the body and the hood design was much-improved over the earlier versions.
Released in 1989, the Porsche 964 marked the biggest change to the 911 in its then 25-year history, with the engineers in Stuttgart claiming that 85 per cent of the new sports car’s componentry had been revised. Powered by a 250 BHP 6-cylinder DOHC, 3600cc fuel-injected engine, the Speedsters were available as rear wheel drive only. Weighing just 1380 kg, 0-62 mph was achieved in just 5.7 seconds, and top speed was 162 mph.
Steering a 964 is intuitive, with the lithe chassis ably coping with any twist or turn you throw at it. The 964 provides a charming mix of classic 911 silhouette with the addition of modern touches. The Porsche 964 is a truly usable day-to-day proposition at the same time as still retaining the aesthetic and dynamic engagement prized by Porsche purists.
This magnificent example of the Porsche 964 narrow-body Speedster is presented in a truly time-warp condition. Supplied new by Porsche Japan on 10th September 1993, the car is complete with an excellent service history, handbooks, spare key and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. The Speedster has benefitted from a recent service being carried out at Porsche Centre Bournemouth. With just 903 examples built, this represents a real opportunity to a Porsche collector.

- Paul Michaels, Chairman of Hexagon Classics, Started the business in 1963.
From a small mews in North London, Hexagon quickly built a reputation for being passionate about road and racing cars.
They became the official dealers of one of the vital most prestigious brands in the world, including Porsche, Alfa Romeo, Lotus and Reliant, not to mention London’s leading BMW dealer for over 45 years.
During that time, Hexagon also committed to car racing. They began racing D-Type Jaguars, Formula 5000, and throughout their most adventurous period, entered into Formula One in 1973/74, with driver John Watson driving a Brabham BT44 to their best finish of 4th in Austria and picking up a very respectable six points for the season.
Racing, with a particular emphasis on history, remains a passion, evidenced by the purchase of a 1987 Porsche 962, which raced twice at Le Mans – finishing 4TH and 8th, respectively. It’s one of the vital original examples in the world, and can be seen on display in our East Finchley showroom.
Paul and his team – led by Jonathan Franklin – are harnessing their wealth of experience to bring you the very best the market has to offer.
Their unrivalled contacts and reach across the world means that if the car you wish to have is not in stock, they know where and who to go to get it. And no car is offered to customers until a full and detailed inspection is undertaken.
Hexagon Classics makes a speciality of the rarest and most collectable marques in the world and is the first port of call for any serious collector or investor.
We also specialise in the collectable air-cooled Porsches, and we usually have over 40 Porsche models in stock at any one time. In fact, given that Porsche was one of the crucial marques Hexagon sold new, it’s entirely conceivable that a we can see a vehilce we originaly sold, re-enter stock as a classic!
Hexagon’s recent partnership with Lotus marks a return to new cars, but with the Lotus heritage steeped in racing and some iconic road-going models, it’s a move that fits in with the ethos of the Hexagon brand. And with Jean-Marc Gales now at the helm, there are some exciting new Lotus developments to come.
To find out more about Hexagon, or to talk more about an investment you’ll cherish – whether you’ve never bought a classic in your life or you’re looking to extend or refresh your current collection, we’d love to hear from you.
