VW Caravelle Auto LHD 2.8 Extra Long Special Order “R Range” Sports 30K miles

It returned to England where I realised that despite being close to new, the mere passing of time meant parts rubbers etc needed replacement . Therefore, combined with a decision to to combine overhaul and upgrade, the work began. and here the very slow  upgrade began. Unfortunately, no Royal budgets here!   Fortunately, it was already a Q quick stylish deluxe vehicle, Central Locking, Alarm and Electric windows.  Porsche wheels, R Leather and special paintwork, an unused spare, ridiculously complex entertainment system,  it needed upgrading with more domestic elements. Swivels to allow front seats to face backwards. Small sink, Fridge microwave, power points electric bed, safe, Bike hitch. Fridge, Solar Panels, Roof rack, charging points.  I still have the extra row of seats and the ones for the replaced “Electric Bed” seats and these mounts could be screwed back in and they slot in. But there would not be enough room to use the electric bed. Touch the remote, it glides into position  The electric heated bed is lovely. During that time, I decided a proper toilet would be a lifesaver. Fitting in a custom box, it looks inconspicuous and is simply bolted in. Similarly I noticed things were wrong. The TV was unsatisfactory the microwave sat on top of the sink and needed its own unit. The answer is to remove the 5/6th seat and fit a “unit.” Better storage, more worktop and much more organisation at rear. But I did not want a camper.  The TV was easily corrected with something called a Samsung View, a very large tablet. 

All Paperwork including Service books , Log Book and copy with the Sultan Name in it, and COC for registration abroad is available. The mileage is Certified mileage through MOT testers tend to regularly confuse Miles and Kilometers showing it as a discrepancy as well as regularly failing it for LHD lights  Always maintained, its had whatever it needed.

The Upgrade and service works recently completed  and included: New tyres, exhaust ( took months to find)  upgraded later front lights, dark rear lights, smoked fog lights,Swivel Seats under seat base Safe, Upgrade Suspension, replace discs and brakes, electric bed, fridge under that, Basin and washer  The microwave and 2 ring hob to sit above microwave. Wifi unit. I tried all sorts of TVs but best was an oversize “Samsung view”.  It can come with it. 

The Good Bits. It has more power than you need  204 BHP plus and fantastic auto box. It has  a custom AMG steering wheel in Leather and Blue Suede. The Toilet  has never been used, new tyres, (were not worn but old ). New XS 245/40/18. Full check over this month. It has gone  gone back for a few things I noticed. It has a great Alpine Stereo and Nav, special console for it, a between the seats cool box, touch charging,  more charging points  than you can imagine, bright interior lights, Stalk bed lights, solar panels on roof. Stainless side bars, Stainless Roof rack and lights and rear lights, Tow bar for Sports Bike.  I got the one wheel mount that fits on the hitch, but this needed two more “balance hooks”. Sadly I can no longer ride bikes.  Likely so much I  have forgotten. The inside lighting was great but needed dimming.  Three years later, I have found the dimming switch set up!. Bed reading lights assisted. These are all things that you change as you use it, but sadly I did not use it.

The “Outstanding” list or Not So Good Bits.

1. The wheels could probably do with a refurbish as they no longer look like new. The plus is they don’t attract attention This idiot keeps touching kerbs parking  and they need a good polish  but no longer have a garage here to keep with four wheels off whilst they are done. Cost circa £350. Could probably be arranged with the buyer  

2. A rear heated shower was purchased ( its still in my friend’s cupboard in Lauderdale and fits in the toilet box or under rear seat .   Excess bags added up to national debt. There is however an extra shower head as wanted this in tailgate as well as Hand attachment for foot washing. 

3.There is a rattle in the Left door from drivers seat and clip and plastic is no longer available from VW. 

Its lack of use means it has eaten batteries. Two currently fitted  (Changed recently one engine one Leisure with five year warranty)

This bus will takes all the work out of a custom build. It didn’t need restoring as it all original including the deep shine paintwork  There is a little Flexibility. I will include VIG and 4 numbers ageless plate. t will need minor adjustments for your intended use. You can pay by Bank transfer. It will “Check and HP out fine. (never had finance, never crashed etc. ) You will get a proper receipt . You can view it on a ramp or get specialist to look at it
