1929 Ford Model A Deluxe Convetible – probably best for sale in Europe

1929 FORD MODEL A ROADSTER DELUXE. 

A stunning Model A Roadster; U.S. car with 3.3 litre 40bhp engine with police head; comprehensive rebuild by Belcher Engineering 2017/18 costing in excess of £20,000 BF 7206 is a Model A Ford built in 1929, imported in 2014 and first registered over here in 2015. Although it looked like a million dollars (though, fortunately, costing far less) the A was not a happy car and after racking up a few miles, the vendor delivered it to Belcher Engineering, with the request: put it right. The invoices make interesting reading and Belchers carried out considerable remedial work to the car. This included new pistons, a re-bore, crank grind, new cam, Police-spec cylinder head (a popular go-faster goodie), new exhaust manifold, new oil pump and having the crankshaft balanced. The original gearbox was beyond repair so a new, close-ratio box was fitted. The back axle received new half-shafts; a new generator, battery and distributor were fitted, and – you must have spotted them – five new white-wall tyres. There were a stack of other items attended to at the time and a huge amount of work carried out. All this is detailed in the invoices in the history file and the total bill was in excess of £20,000.With a reputed 75k spent here and in the USA. When you consider how relatively inexpensive Model A parts are (and the fact that some of the work was done at a discounted rate) this amounts to some serious care and attention. There is a the addition or the mesh radiator stone guard, modern indictors with steering column stalk and of course the fabulous period luggage and luggage rack  which is almost new. 

This is a very smart Model A in desirable drop-top form with a stylish colour scheme set off by those Tangoed wire-wheels and white-wall tyres. The car has been comprehensively sorted and is ready for further classic rallies. With its up-rated engine and close–ratio gearbox this Model A has no problems keeping up with modern traffic and should provide its new owner with some enjoyable vintage motoring.

The paintwork, interior,underneath, engine, wheels, tyres etc etc are all faultless. The word concours means many things to different people but safe to say this is as close as you would want and is certainly worthy of a few trophies. There are several manuals and other parts etc to go with the car. We have had many Model A’s and love them all. This is the best I have ever owned. Car has come from a serious car collection where it was used for a Bride arrival in true style. After this very short journey it was put back on charge and rested in a state of the art man cave. Previous to this the car was used for numerous rallies and handles the hills and dales with ease.This is the 2nd time we have had the pleasure of owning. One of the nicest classics we have ever sold.  This is probably One of the nicest roadsters for sale in Europe at the moment.
